OPPO’s New Meshtalk Feature – Now Communicate without Wi-Fi or Cellular Signals

OPPO, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has revealed a new technology called MeshTalk. It will allow users to communicate with each other over short distances.

They can communicate through OPPO’s MeshTalk feature without the need to rely on Wi-Fi or cellphone signals or Bluetooth. The new feature was introduced by Oppo at the MWC event in Shanghai in 2019.

Oppo claims to add the MeshTalk feature in all Android devices as a built-in feature. This new feature can be termed as the modern-day walkie talkie. It will have a large working range in comparison to the original one.

Two people can communicate on it if they are within a 3km radius from each other. Voice calls, voice messages, and texts can be sent.

This will be quite a useful tool in remote areas as people do face connectivity issues in far-fetched places.

The media representative of Oppo said, “At times, we encounter extreme situations when there is no network coverage at all for example, when you just arrive at an airport in a foreign country or when you take an off-road trip or attend a concert, football match, or exhibition, this technology offers a solution to such scenarios in which other network connections are unavailable.”

In case of emergencies or natural hazard, in which the network system of the country gets disrupted, this is quite a useful tool.
