Optional Windows 11 24H2 update fixes critical problems

Microsoft has now also provided an optional update for Windows 11 version 24H2. However, the preview version had a few problems, so that you should still be careful.

Microsoft is currently working on some innovations that are now released for the first users outside the insider tests with the optional update for Windows 11 version 24H2. The update that has now started comes with a long list of changes, primary improvements and error fixes. The optional update, which is known as Build 26100.4202 (KB5058499), introduces several innovations for Click to do and copilot. One of the most important changes is the new energy saving mode, which is provided for IT administrators to coordinate end devices.

As before, part of the changes does not start for all users at the same time. As part of the gradual introduction, there are also innovations that were announced as part of Build 2025.

Availability of the update

The update is currently offered via the Windows Update function as an optional update, if you want to try it out, you can search for it and already install it. With the patch day in June (June 10) it will be automatically distributed to all users.

• [Netzwerk] Fixed: This update fixes a problem in which Windows Server 2025 always shows the network on new domain controllers as “public”. Before using loopback addresses, it is now searched for a domain controller name to ensure proper LDAP binding (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).
