Orange Train First Fleet Of Coaches Will Arrive Lahore In July Report Confirms

Orange Line Metro Train Project in Lahore is long waited to be inaugurated, as people can’t wait to sit in the new Orange line after using metro buses, On Wednesday, it was confirmed by Chairman Steering Committee of Orange Metro Line Khwaja Ahmad that the first fleet of coaches will reach Lahore in July in a weekly progress meeting of the project.

He said, coaches in the fleet of Orange Metro Line are manufactured at high standards, international standard, comfortable and fully air-conditioned coaches will join the fleet compatible with Pakistani whether conditions, these coaches will become a part of Orange Metro Line and provide safe, smart and swift travelling to almost 250,000 people across the province.

The first batch of coaches was manufactured in China, the depot to accommodate parking facilities of these coaches is already been setup in Dera Gujran. The Orange Metro Train has an estimated speed of 80 km/hour, there are total of 27 trains in the entire line, each consisting of 5 coaches. When trains will be operational there would be an interval of 5 to 10 minutes for arrival and departure times.

The meeting informed that 68.25% of the civil work is already completed in this project, progress on Phase-1 which is from Dera Gujran, GT Road to Chuberji was completed by 82.6% while on phase-II there is more work to complete, Chuberji to Ali Town is 50.5% done. Surroundings of Dera Gujran are 73% completed while Ali Town Yard and surroundings are 66.9% completed.

Construction of four station, Chuberji, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad will be completed by May the 30, while the remaining nine stations will be completed till June 30, as per minutes of meeting

Chairman Ahmad directed for speeding up construction activities on phase-II and encouraged employing more labour to complete to project asap. He also highlighted the need for adopting security and safety measures during execution of work on the project.
