Only last week it became known that the Redmond company is planning and preparing a special extension that will bring the most important Outlook features to the browser. Now the time has come, the add-on can now be installed in a preview version.
For many users nowadays, Outlook is the central platform for communication by e-mail as well as organizing appointments, and all users who use Microsoft Edge as a browser can now try out a suitable add-on. The extensions make it possible to get to the most important Outlook features at the push of a button.
The question of meaning can of course be asked if you work a lot with Outlook and have the mail application permanently open and in use in the desktop client or in a separate tab anyway. But if you only check your emails now and then, the extension is still well suited for you.
Because you get a quick look at your inbox at the push of a button and of course you can also read, answer or forward the individual posts. In addition, the calendar, contacts, and to-do tasks are available, the most important – and even surprisingly many – functionalities of Outlook are offered here too.
The app can currently only be used on Microsoft’s own Edge browser. However, it is to be assumed or to be hoped that the Redmond-based company will also offer the extension for Chrome after the end of the preview phase – after all, browsers share the engine with Chromium.
