Pakistani Ambassador Invites IT Professionals To Explore Opportunities In The US

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry urged Pakistani IT companies and professionals to explore business opportunities with U.S. IT firms in order to accommodate IT exports and increase IT investments.

A 16-member delegation of Pakistan IT professionals visited the office, in addition to attending the Microsoft’s Global Partner Event “Inspire” which was scheduled to held in Washington from July 9 to July 13. During the meeting at the Embassy, the delegation discussed Pakistan’s IT industry and its problems. Aizaz Ahmed said, “Pakistan is an emerging market for international investors, there are vast opportunities in the U.S for promoting Pakistani IT industry and forging investment opportunities.”

U.S. will remain the global technology leader in the future and there is an opportunity for Pakistani professionals to promote their sector and services in the United States, he added.

He further said, “A large number of Pakistani IT professionals are serving in the United States to polish their professional skills, Pakistan focuses on the importance of business relationships with the U.S. and endeavors to further strengthen the bilateral relationships in various sectors including IT, it is the time that IT sector should position itself well in the U.S. market by making strong business relationships with other IT organizations.”

Ambassador said, “Corporate America has understood the value of investing in Pakistan after the development of CPEC which creates new opportunities for international businesses to invest in Pakistan, IT sector should leverage this opportunity well in time in order to secure the future growth of the industry.”

According to tribune Pakistan’s IT exports currently exceeding $2 billion in 2014-15, according to PSEB Pakistan’s IT exports were $2.2 billion in the given year. PSEB also predicts the industry exports will touch $10 billion by 2025.
