Paramount+ Announces Price Increase And User Figures

paramount+

Paramount+ has now presented user numbers – and announced a price increase for the USA. As part of its latest quarterly results, Paramount has presented new figures on how many streaming customers it currently has worldwide. All services offered by Paramount Global, as the media group is officially called, currently have a total of 67 million streaming customers. However, all of the company’s platforms are counted here, including Showtime and Paramount+.

The latter is of course the largest service and flagship of the company. Paramount+ currently has 46 million subscribers worldwide. The development is also quite positive because 4.6 million customers were added in the period from July to September (via The Hollywood Reporter ).

Prices Are Increasing For All

Because in the USA the first price adjustment has already been announced: Paramount’s Chief Financial Officer Naveen Chopra announced that there are “possibilities for price increases” and that they will probably do so in the future. The CFO did not say how high this will be. Paramount+ currently costs $4.99 per month (with ads) or $9.99 (ad-free) in the US.

According to Chopra, it’s a trend across the streaming industry: “I think it’s fair to say that prices are going up across the industry – you’re seeing that across a number of competing services.”
