Password safety checks will now be performed in the background by Google Chrome

To enhance the browser’s overall security, Google said in its December Chrome update that the password check will, by default, run automatically in the background to find compromised passwords while you are using the browser. You will receive an alert or caution in the three-dot menu located on the upper-right section of the browser’s menu bar if Google Chrome detects any problems.

To increase security, Google Chrome says that the password scan will operate in the background. In addition, Google Chrome for desktop users will alert them when their Safe Browsing feature is activated, so they can block websites that appear on Google’s list of potentially dangerous websites. Sabine Borsay, Product Manager for the Chrome Group, said that Safety Check for Chrome will now launch automatically in the background on desktop computers. You can respond to these alerts by seeing them in Chrome’s three-dot menu.

Furthermore, Google Chrome will expand the Safety Check’s ability to automatically remove permissions. By doing this, you can assist in removing location or microphone rights from inactive websites. Additionally, Safety Check can be used on websites that allow users to immediately disable notifications and that push an excessive quantity of them.

To enable it to operate with less computer memory, Google Chrome is also adding support for saved tab groups and Memory Saver mode.
