Pixel Watch 2 might get multi-day battery life with latest processor and a UWB chip

Google Pixel Watch 2 might get better battery life with the latest processor along with expected UWB support, as reported by Kamila Wojciechowska in a writing for Android Authority. The latest leak reveals information about the Pixel Watch successor, which will use a more reliable 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus chip.

The latest chip will provide a better experience for users by expanding the battery life to multiple days. In The Verge’s Victoria Song’s review last year, the initial Pixel Watch featured a significantly slower 10nm Exynos 9110, which got up to 15 hours of battery life at most.

Apple utilizes UWB in its Air Tags and new Air Pods Pro, as does Samsung in its Galaxy Tags and Buds2 Pro, while Google’s Pixel series has previously integrated UWB chips in the Pro models of the Pixel 6 and 7 smartphones, as well as the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.

If the Pixel Watch 2 has UWB compatibility, it will not only be easier to find in Google’s Find My Device network, but it may also be the first Android smartwatch to adopt the wireless technology. Other convenient features, such as unlocking your car with your watch, could be enabled, but given how little Apple has done with the U1 processor in the Apple Watch, it’s vital to keep expectations modest for the time being.

According to Wojciechowska, the watch’s battery capacity will be boosted from 294 mAh in the initial Pixel Watch to 306 mAh, which should modestly enhance battery life on its own. Wojciechowska also mentions “seamless updates,” which are apparently referring to the Android update process, which claims to speed up the process of updating a device by splitting the update and only applying it after a restart.

Wojciechowska has lately revealed multiple Pixel leaks, including a video showing the Pixel Fold itself, which was undisclosed at the time.
