However, things are about to change by next month. As expected, ads are arriving on Prime Video. In other words, Prime Video with Amazon Prime will now show content with ads.

Reportedly, US users have received emails from the company stating that the new changes will be implemented on January 29, 2024. According to the details, users who wish to avoid annoying ads can opt to pay more for the service. Besides the existing charges for the monthly or yearly Amazon Prime membership, users can pay an additional $2.99 per month to avoid ads on the video streaming platform.

The ad-free option for Prime Video is open for pre-orders Pre-orders for the $2.99/month option, which will remove ads from Prime Video, are now available on Amazon. You will be charged by Amazon when the option becomes available if you pre-order it. In addition, there are no details about the potential benefits the user will get if they pre-order the option. Currently, membership in Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. The subscription to Priem Video, on the other hand, costs $8.99 per month. There is no annual billing plan for this service.

The company informed US users via email about the upcoming changes to the platform. According to details, movies and TV shows on Prime Video will now include limited ads. With the help of a new option, the company intends to invest in compelling content for the platform. The email states that Amazon’s main focus is to offer fewer ads as compared to linear TV and other streaming TV providers. You don’t need to do anything, and the cost of your Prime membership hasn’t changed.
