Qualcomm launched new Snapdragon 670 SoC for midrange smartphones

Qualcomm has launched new Snapdragon 670 SoC which is a powerful chip to power up midrange smartphones. The chip named SDM670 includes multi-core Qualcomm artificial intelligence (AI) engine, Qualcomm Kryo CPU, Qualcomm Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Hexagon vector processor to support even high-end features in the new smartphones.

Camera support

The new chip will support up to 25 megapixels singe camera and up to 16 megapixels dual camera. The SoC will have Qualcomm Spectra 250 image sensor processor, 2X image sensor processor (ISP) with 14bit.

The chip will be able to process 4K ultra HD video with 30fps and accelerated Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).

CPU

The CPU clock speed would be up to 2.0GHz, the SoC will also have 8x cores Qualcomm Kryo 360 CPU, it is built on 64-bit CPU architecture.

The other specifications include: Qualcomm Adreno 615 GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 LTE modem, Qualcomm Hexagon 685DSP, the process used for the technology is 10nm.
