Qualcomm Unveils Quick Charge 3 Plus With Faster Charging And Affordability

Qualcomm has announced Quick Charge 3 Plus, the company’s next version of the commonly used charging system. With potential Android devices that adopt the technology, the company is promising even faster charging and lower prices.

The hardware for the Snapdragon 765 and 765G will be made available first. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom is the first phone to embrace new charging tech. Actually the device will feature both Quick Charge 3 Plus and Quick Charge 4 Plus, making it the only phone that supports both.

Additional Snapdragon platforms will be enabled across product categories by 2020, but no other smartphone buyers can expect to see the technology going forward.

Quick Charge 3 Plus aims to provide super-fast charging while staying affordable. The company claims it can charge a battery in around 15 minutes, which is 35% faster than previous generations, from dead to 50 per cent. It also promises to deliver the charging speed to a cooler of 9 degrees Celsius. As far as power production is concerned, the new system hires up to 60W of 20V and 3A.

The new Qualcomm Quick Charge 3 Plus platform will support industry-standard USB-A to USB-C cables and accessories from Quick Charge 4, which operate with 20mV measures of adjustable voltage. The key feature that makes 3 Plus stand out in contrast with Fast Charge 4 Plus is the support for the USB-A connector, which is cheaper than the connectors used for Fast Charge 4 Plus.

It is also fully backward compatible with previous models, and it will be able to support a wide variety of accessories already available to system owners. This sticks to the affordability theme as buyers do not need to replace all the crosses they have already purchased.
