A couple of weeks ago, we started getting to know the upcoming Realme GT Neo2. Rumors suggested that China will be the first to receive this smartphone. The same device also landed Geekbench where we learned some authentic news about the device that included “a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC with a 2.42GHz base clock speed and an Adreno 650 GPU with a 3.19GHz peak CPU clock speed.”
Yesterday, GSMArena quoted that Realme “would launch the smartphone (GT Neo 2) globally without providing a timeframe.” Today we learned from the VP of Realme and CEO of Realme India, Europe, and Latin America, Madhav Sheth that this smartphone will soon come to India and will launch in the company’s biggest market in October.
The Realme GT Neo2 is a successor to the GT Neo. It will feature a 6.62-inch FullHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen. Under the hood, we will see a Snapdragon 870 SoC with three memory options – 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB. However, we are uncertain if India will get all these memory configurations. The unit will boot Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0.
The smartphone has a 16MP front camera within the punch hole. The rear side gets a set of three camera sensors – a 64MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro units.
The GT Neo 2will also feature an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The whole unit will generate power from a 5,000 mAh battery, charged through a USB-C port at up to 65W.
