Realme reports that its 200 millionth smartphone has been shipped globally

Recently, the smartphone manufacturer Realme announced that in just five years it has shipped more than 200 million smartphones. According to the company, most of the devices were shipped outside China. The data indicates that Relme is the fifth-fastest smartphone company in the world to achieve this target.

Realme comes under the umbrella of BBK Electronics, along with Oppo and Vivo. According to information, the 200 million mark was achieved by the company in Q2 2023. Only four firms have shipped the same number of units faster: Vivo, Huawei (HWT.UL), Samsung (005930.KS), and Apple (AAPL.O), according to data from market analytics firm Counterpoint Research. Furthermore, just 14 companies worldwide have shipped more than 200 million phones to date.

The chief marketing officer, Xu Qi, states that the company was founded when there were 700 different smartphone brands across the globe. It is a proud moment for us since we have managed to be listed in the world’s top 10 brands for the past five years, he added. The report from Counterpoint Research shows that in 2017, there were more than 700 different smartphone brands and by September, that number had dropped to roughly 250.

The company is famous for its affordable devices that come with excellent features. The Realme 11 Pro is the recent offering by the company that comes with a unique design, amazing display, and super fast charging. Furthermore, the chief marketing officer claims that the company is all set to launch its premium Realme GT 5 Pro, which will be the company’s first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. In addition to this, the smartphone will also feature Sony’s new Lytia camera sensor.
