Red Magic 5S To Come With 144Hz Refresh Rate And 320Hz Sampling Rate

Nubia Redmagic 5S

With the Red Magic 5S, the Chinese manufacturer Nubia is to present the next generation of its gaming smartphone on July 28th. Not only have many technical details been leaked in advance, but the company itself is already advertising its new Android flagship.

As Nubia President Ni Fei announces on the Weibo social media platform, the official starting signal for the new RedMagic 5S will be given in just a few days. The successor to the RedMagic 5G is once again aimed at gamers and, like many smartphones in the second half of 2020, should have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+. In addition to the octa-core chip with a clock rate of up to 3.1 GHz, a fast working memory (LPDDR5 RAM) and flash memory (UFS 3.1) should be included. Dimensions of up to 16 GB or 512 GB are expected.

The focus continues to be on fast image processing, sampling and refresh rates

Nubia confirmed in advance that the RedMagic 5S would once again use a display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a touchscreen sampling rate of 240Hz. The company owes information on size and screen technology. However, it can be assumed that Nubia should equip the “5G successor” with the same 6.65-inch OLED display. A new video shows the use of improved shoulder buttons, which trigger faster in the RedMagic 5S with a sampling rate of 320 Hz. Replenishment should also be delivered in the area of accessories, as Nubia confirmed in advance.

An external fan is planned to protect the smartphone from overheating in addition to active internal cooling (15,000 rpm) and to keep the Qualcomm chip at full power for longer. The “Wind Cooling Magic Box” should also have a USB-C port and a 3.5 mm jack connection. However, it remains to be seen what noise level players can expect and at what price the second fan is offered.

Since the invitation to the Nubia event on July 28 is primarily aimed at the Asian audience, it can be assumed that the RedMagic 5S will be announced globally sometime later. However, it is considered very likely that the manufacturer will also offer its new gaming smartphone with Google Android 10 in this country. Even though the current RedMagic 5G was only introduced in April 2020.
