Xiaomi’s Redmi is prepping up to introduce a new smartphone which may stay only for the local market. The expected device could be the Redmi 20X.
Last year, Redmi introduced the Redmi 10X in China, which was confined to China. We expect the same for this upcoming smartphone.
The new Redmi smartphone is expected to come in four color options – black, white/silver, blue, and green, supporting 5G connectivity, a 90Hz screen, and a 48 MP main rear camera. The device may be priced at CNY 999 (around $152 or €128) for the base model, i.e., 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
According to other sources, the Redmi 20X is expected to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset, a 6.5″ FHD+ LCD screen, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, up to 6GB of RAM, a dedicated microSD card slot, a triple rear camera system with two 2MP shooters, a main 48MP camera, an 8MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging. The device would run Android 11 with MIUI 12 out of the box.
