Samsung AMD GPU Beats Apple A14 Bionic Chip

Samsung is working on its AMD GPU for the in-house Exynos 2200 chip. The GPU might power some models from the Galaxy S22 series. This GPU is equal to the Apple A14 Bionic chip.

The benchmark test for this GPU was conducted in June. It has six compute units and is clocked at 1.31Ghz. The test results showed the below results:

  • Manhattan 3.1: 170.7 Fps
  • Aztec Normal: 121.4 Fps
  • Aztec High: 51.5 Fps

Previously, these tests gave more impressive results. But the company has reduced the performance to avoid overheating:

  • Manhattan 3.1: 181.8 Fps
  • Aztec Normal: 138.25 Fps
  • Aztec High: 58 Fps

Interestingly results for the Apple A14 Bionic chip are still below the results for Samsung’s GPU:

  • Manhattan 3.1: 146.4 Fps
  • Aztec Normal: 109.2 Fps
  • Aztec High: 39.9 Fps

However, the next line of iPhone 13 is not expected to come with A14 but A14 chip, which is “the new and improved” chip.
