Samsung and Vivo To Host Event Tomorrow For Exynos 980 5G Chip and Vivo X30

Samsung and Vivo are all set to co-host an event tomorrow which is specifically organized for two major announcements, the Vivo X30 mobile phone and Samsung Exynos 980 chip with 5G integrated modem.

Samsung has already announced its Exynos 980 chip with 5G integrated modem, however, it was reported earlier that Samsung is focusing on selling its 5G modems to Vivo and Oppo, today Vivo has officially announced this development on their Weibo account that they are going to co-host the event with Samsung and announcing their first 5G enabled phone Vivo X30 powered by Exynos 980 5G chip. It is also reported that Samsung is going to supply its 5G modems to Apple in 2020 as Apple is likely to launch its 5G devices in 2020.

As the conference is co-hosted by both companies its named “Vivo X Samsung 5G AI chip press conference” which is scheduled to take place in Beijing China. We can expect that Vivo will also announce its new Vivo X30 smartphone during the conference.

The Exynos 980 chip is built with two Cortex-A77 cores plus six Cortex-A55 cores totaling to 8-cores processor with Mali-G76 MP5 GPU. The SoC is integrated with a 5G modem which becomes cheaper to produce due to simplified motherboard and it becomes more efficient. According to some experts, Vivo X30 would be a better 5G smartphone as compared to its rivals due to Samsung’s Exynos 980 5G chip.

We have also come across some renders of Vivo X30 which shows the notch-less display and triple rear camera module, however, until today the specifications of the device are not confirmed. As we get to the conference we will get a more detailed account of Vivo X30.
