With the Wireless Charger Trio EP-P6300, Samsung today presented a new wireless charging dock for smartphones and other mobile devices that can simultaneously supply three devices with energy via wireless charging.
With the Wireless Charger Trio, Samsung is bringing a product onto the market that follows a concept on which Apple legendarily failed with its Dock called AirPower. Unfortunately, the Korean manufacturer hardly gave any exact details about the new triple charging dock with wireless charging, but detailed information is now available.
The new Samsung Wireless Charger Trio is relatively long and wide so that there is really enough space for a large smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, a second phone, or the headphones from the Galaxy Buds series and you still have a smartwatch on the right end.
According to Samsung, the triple wireless charging dock will be able to charge Samsung smartphones wirelessly with up to nine watts, while devices from other manufacturers can be charged with up to 7.5 watts. At least two devices can also be charged in parallel with up to 7.5 or 9 watts in the two “large” places on the dock.
According to Samsung’s datasheet, the specification of “up to 7.5 watts for devices from other manufacturers” expressly refers to the iPhone 8, iPhone X, and iPhone 11. Qi-certified smartphones from other manufacturers, on the other hand, are only charged wirelessly with a maximum of five watts. For the third position on the dock, which is intended for the power supply of smartwatches, a maximum charging power of 3.5 watts is specified.
In total, the dock can theoretically deliver up to 21.5 watts of power if all three stations are occupied. To make this possible, Samsung has included the same 25-watt power supply that is included in the scope of delivery of its current smartphones. Incidentally, there is also an optional dimmable LED-based charge level indicator on the dock.
The Samsung Wireless Charger Trio EP-P6300, like the other products presented today, is due to hit the market in September and will then be available in black or white.
