Samsung could surprise with design

Many smartphone manufacturers are currently working hard to make their devices as thin as possible. Samsung should be no exception and could release the upcoming fan edition in a special “slim” design. OnLeaks / Android Headlines

Thin devices in fashion

As soon as Apple began to focus again on developing the thinnest possible devices, other manufacturers followed suit. So does Samsung. Because how The Elec Reportedly, the Korean company is said to have plans to release the Galaxy S25 FE as a particularly thin model that may possibly compete with the suspected iPhone 17 Air/Slim.

Flat S25 FE with large display

According to the report, in order to make the fan edition of the S25 as thin as possible and undercut the eight millimeters of the current FE model, Samsung could adjust the form factor of the battery. So it should be flatter, but wider. Whether or how this will affect capacity is unclear.

The smartphone should also follow the approach of the Galaxy S24 FE, which was released just a few weeks ago, and have a 6.7-inch screen. Previously, the Fan Edition models only appeared with a 6.4-inch display and were therefore smaller than the Plus and Ultra variants of the smartphone.

Uncertainty about installed chips

It is still unclear which chip the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE will be equipped with. Recently, at least with the standard version of the S25, there were speculations that Samsung could rely on the Dimensity 9400 from MediaTek as part of a surprising twist due to the manufacturing problems with its in-house Exynos chips. It would be the first time that Samsung would incorporate the Taiwanese manufacturer’s chips into its top smartphone range.

However, its new tablets in the Galaxy Tab S10 series are already using the Dimensity 9300+. Google recently fueled the rumors again with a wording in an article. However, the relevant passage has now been removed from the text. Since the Galaxy S25 FE is currently not expected to be released until September 2025, a lot can still happen between now and then. This applies to both the mentioned “slim” form factor and the built-in chip.
