Samsung Display welcomes the Korean President as part of its $3.1 billion investment celebration

The South Korean tech company Samsung has various divisions. Each division is unique in its products and services. Among these, Samsung Display is consistently at the forefront of technological breakthroughs as one of the conglomerate’s most profitable subsidiaries. A demonstration consistent with this fact was presented at MWC 2023 when Samsung Display featured its cutting-edge foldable display prototypes.

Samsung Display keeps investing to develop its capabilities. It just signed a $3.1 billion agreement with producers of materials, parts, and equipment. Yoon Suk Yeol, the President of South Korea, visited the corporation as a result of the deal’s enormous economic impact on the nation.

More inducements promised to support the OLED industry

According to reports, President Yoon Suk Yeol visited the Asan campus of Samsung Display. The visit was specifically concerned with the celebration of the new large-scale investment deal between Samsung Display and its suppliers. The deal was disclosed during the celebration ceremony at the factory.

By 2026, Samsung Display’s OLED panel production lines will be upgraded with an expenditure of $3.1 billion. These panels are used in laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices. Through collaborating on joint technology research, production innovation, and early payment for orders, Samsung Display will also assist local manufacturers of display parts, equipment, and materials in enhancing their competitiveness.

The president stated that this deal signifies a new rise in the country’s display industry. Besides this, the president promised to extend his support to the OLED industry so that it could remain at the top in the international market. He assured that support will be provided in form of incentives, investments, and R&D for OLED technology upgrades.
