Samsung Galaxy S10, A50, and A30 will no longer receive updates

Early in 2019, the South Korean conglomerate introduced the Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy A50, and Galaxy A30. It’s now four years since the devices debuted. As of March 2023, the devices have completed their four years in the market. It marks that the devices are no more eligible for official software support by the company. Although, the company has introduced its new software policy under which devices are eligible for five years for official software updates. But it doesn’t include the devices launched in 2019.

The Galaxy S10 series is not eligible for updates anymore

In February 2019, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S10 series. The series consists of Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+. The smartphone debuted with Android 9. During the timespan of four years, the Galaxy S10 series have received updates up to Android 12 and several security updates. As of now, in March 2023, the devices are excluded from the company’s official software support list. No updates including features and security will be no longer rolled out for the Galaxy S10 series.

In addition to this, Galaxy S10 5G is also included in the Galaxy S10 series. It was introduced in the market in April as the world’s first commercial 5G smartphone. So, it has one more month of official support. On the other hand, the Galaxy S10 Lite was introduced in early 2020 so it is eligible for updates until January 2024.

The Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 have also reached the end of their lifespan

The company redesigned the mid-range smartphone profile in 2019. It rebranded some series while abandoning a few lineups. The Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 were introduced as brand-new devices in response to competition by Chinese brands. The Galaxy A50 series was a hit at that time. It is considered the “best value” smartphone by Samsung ever since. The Galaxy A50 and A30 series has reached the end of their lives. It might be possible that the company releases one last update, however, nothing can be said for sure.
