Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G Geekbench Listing Confirms SD 865 Chip

Galaxy S20 FE

When Samsung released the Galaxy S20 FE last year, the company adopted the affordable Exynos 990 chipset for the 4F model, and also offered the option of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset for the 5G model. But GSM Arena just discovered that this year’s situation may be different. The Thai Telecom Certification Authority NBTC just revealed the new Samsung 4G model SM-G780G/DS, and its motherboard model in the Geekbench benchmark database is “kona”.

Previously, we have seen “Kona” on many devices equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, and Samsung there is even an SM-G780G / DS support page on the official website. The certification information reveals that the Galaxy S20 FE 4G model will also use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. In addition, the Geekbench benchmark database indicates that the device will have 6GB (or even 8GB) RAM options.

Since the Snapdragon 865 uses an external baseband solution, manufacturers can flexibly configure the X55 by replacing the X55 with a 4G-only modem, leaving expensive 5G antennas and other components.

However, even if the new Galaxy S20 FE 5G device has been the first to land in the Indian market, the country has not yet launched its first commercial 5G network, so the combination of Snapdragon 865 + 4G baseband will be more popular with ordinary consumers.

In addition to lowering the price of Galaxy S20 FE series models, the 4G version is also expected to expand software support. On the basis that the new device has been pre-installed with Android 11, Samsung also promised to provide three major version updates for its high-end devices.

Finally, the official support page also showed the names of many market areas, including Austria, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Russia, Kazakhstan Stan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, etc.
