Samsung intends to introduce the new top smartphones of the Galaxy S23 series in early February. So much was already known, but there was no concrete date. Now, this is changing, because there is practically an exact launch date for the Galaxy S23.

As the Chinese Twitter leaker with the username Universeice announced yesterday, February 1, 2023, should be the date for the official presentation of Samsung’s new high-end smartphones. Our sources have now also confirmed a date in early February, although it can also be heard that it could be February 2, 2023.

Expected Launch: Live in San Francisco on February 1, 2023

The launch of the Galaxy S23 and its more expensive sister models is said to take place in San Francisco on the US West Coast, which is known to result in a time difference of nine hours compared to Germany. Compared to Samsung’s home country of South Korea, the time difference is even greater at 17 hours, which is probably why local sources say February 2 is the date for the presentation of the S23 series.

So it would be conceivable that the Galaxy S23 will be presented in San Francisco at 10 a.m. so we will probably see it around 7 p.m. in Germany. A presentation on February 1st or 2nd would also coincide with Samsung’s usual practice of making the devices available in stores almost exactly two weeks later. According to retail sources, availability is scheduled for February 15, 2023.

According to the current state of knowledge, Samsung only wants to make changes to a limited extent with the Galaxy S23 series. Minor optimizations for the displays, slightly revised designs, and comparatively minor adjustments to the cameras are planned. The most important innovation is probably the use of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which will boost device performance by up to 40 percent.
