Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ aids Bottneuro to fight Alzheimer’s disease

Among various Samsung suites in the smartphone industry, Samsung Knox is considered to be one of the safest platforms.  It was recently unveiled that Knox is aiding Bottneuro AG with its efforts on preventing the development of Alzheimer’s disease.

Back in 2021, Bottneuro emerged from the University of Basel. Since then, Bottneuro AG and tech giant Samsung have collaborated. As of now, no suitable treatment for Alzheimer’s or dementia exists. Bottneuro relies on 3D MRI and PET data of patients. It uses this data to identify the affected parts of the brain. Followed by this, a 3D-printed Miamind neurostimulator is used. It electrically stimulates the affected areas.

Galaxy Tab S8+ Enterprise edition has the connection for the Miamind neurostimulator. The neurostimulator could be controlled via the tablet. It will help with the transmission of therapy data. In this way, a simplified operation via a graphic interface is provided. The patients will be presented with the tablet, as well as the 3D-printed neurostimulator, during treatment.

The whole methodology is backed by support from the Samsung Knox suite. It consists of Knox Manage, E-FOTA, KAI, KSP, and Knox Configure. Combined with Knox, the Galaxy Tab S8+ Enterprise Edition tablets will be automatically configured with Bottneuro. It will be done in order to meet the requirements of utilizing the tablet with the 3D-printed neurostimulator.

Daniele Casella, Head of MX B2B Mobile at Samsung Switzerland, stated that with the help of Bottneuro Samsung is going to provide a safe as well as a reliable solution with Knox. As of now, the solution is not presented on a commercial scale. Whereas clinical trials will be carried out this year in order to measure the therapy’s effectiveness.
