Samsung Galaxy W22 5G is Now Available in China

A few days back, Samsung announced to unveil the Samsung Galaxy W22 5G on October 13th. The company fulfilled its promise and the device is finally official. The Galaxy smartphone is currently available for the Chinese audience.

The big question to ask is if this smartphone would go out in other countries or not. Previously, we didn’t see any Galaxy W-series smartphone release in other countries. So we may expect the same this time. After all, it’s a combined effort of Samsung and China Telecom.

No hard feelings if this device would come out of its homeland or not, you may still bring it to your country. All you need is to visit China and buy it. Or you may order it online.

Specifications

The W22 5G is a custom version of the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED front cover display with a resolution of 832 x 2268 px and a resolution of 120Hz. The full size of the display is 7.6 inches and has a resolution of 1768 x 2208 px. The display also features S Pen support. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

This Samsung device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC (5nm), as promised earlier. The chipset will be paired with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM.

The camera compartment isn’t very impressive. There’s a triple camera setup on the rear side with a 12MP main sensor. Interestingly, the primary camera has an optical image stabilization (OIS) support, as mentioned by Gadgets NDTV. There’s also a 10MP selfie camera, resting on top of the cover, and a 4MP under-display selfie camera that rests on the foldable display.

The device has a 4,400mAh battery and measures 158.2 x 67.1 x 16mm when folded and 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4mm when unfolded, and it weighs 288 grams. Other notable features of this foldable device include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), and a USB Type-C port.

This foldable Galaxy smartphone comes in a Phantom Black color along with a textured gold hinge.

Price

The price of the Galaxy W22 5G with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM is CNY 16,999 ($2,640 USD). We were expecting a price tag of nearly CNY 19,999. The device is available for pre-orders in China, with shipments to start from October 22.
