Samsung Launches Galaxy Tab A 8.4 With LTE Support: Best Midrange Tablet

Samsung Launches a new Galaxy Tab A 8.4, relatively inexpensive tablet with LTE support. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) will soon be available from all major American network operators, but should also be launched in Europe later. The device is anchored with the midrange, as it offers, as the name suggests, an 8.4-inch IPS LCD that has a pleasantly high resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and is kept in a 16:10 format.

The edges are relatively narrow, with the latest technology under the hood, as found in a similar form in various Samsung smartphones. The focus is on an Octacore SoC with four 1.6 and four 1.8GHz cores, which Samsung provides with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card slot.

LTE Integrated

The chip is not specified, but according to the Geekbench database, it is the Samsung Exynos 7885, which comes with an integrated LTE modem that can reach up to 600 M/ s downstream. The chip is a bit older but should be ideal for a relatively inexpensive tablet.

The cameras on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 again offer absolute average. A simple 5MP lens sits in the front, while an equally simple 8MP sensor does its job at the rear, and Samsung doesn’t even provide an LED flash. Other features include ac-WLAN with dual-band support and Bluetooth 5.0 LE.

Samsung also relies on simple battery, because the power storage is “normal” with 5000mAh. The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 SM-T307 is a good 7mm thick and weighs just over 300 grams thanks to the plastic housing. Officially, Samsung doesn’t even give a version number, but according to Geekbench, Android 9.0, which is now out of date, is still running there.

In the USA, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 is now available for just under $280. It is still unclear when an introduction in Europe can be expected.
