Samsung May Soon Release Exynos 2200 With AMD GPU

Samsung has announced the presentation of a new chip with a focus on gaming next week. It is now speculated that specific details about the first Exynos SoC with AMD graphics unit could then be announced for the first time. But this is not yet certain.

Samsung’s semiconductor division today published a teaser on the Instagram account of the Samsung Exynos brand, which is used for the group’s mobile CPUs, in which it is stated in a cryptic text that the definition of the word “immersive” has changed over the past few years due to the further development of the Semiconductor technologies has changed.

So far, an “immersive” experience has always depended on a large number of external factors, such as the environment surrounding the user. However, this has fundamentally changed due to the improvements in the field of semiconductor technology. On November 19, 2022, Samsung, therefore, wants to inform you about what has happened. At the same time, the Exynos brand may even be renamed, because Samsung is talking about a “move” of the account to a new home.

New platform for mobile devices?

Some observers assume that Samsung could present the first extensive details on its so-called Exynos 2200 on November 19, a few weeks before Qualcomm. It is said to be the successor to the chip used in the European variants of the Galaxy S21 smartphones. Samsung had already announced earlier that the platform, as part of a cooperation with AMD, wanted to offer a Radeon graphics unit in a mobile chip for smartphones and tablets for the first time.

In the meantime, it was said that AMD and Samsung want to work together to ensure that ray tracing support will soon also become the standard in chips for mobile devices. The elaborate technology for displaying light effects in games has so far only been supported in PC and console games and, with its availability in mobile SoCs, should also ensure an improved gaming experience in smartphones.

Meanwhile, there are also some doubts about the launch of the Exynos 2200 on November 19th. Some observers assume that Samsung will present a different chip at the date or simply introduce a new strategy to promote the marketing of its products.
