Samsung might be working on a new fitness band

Surprisingly, Samsung is working on some new devices this year. We have been hearing about Samsung’s Smart Ring, Fan Edition devices, and the extended reality device. According to some recent pieces of information, the company might be working on a new fitness tracker.

Reportedly, a new device from the company received FCC certification. It carries the model number SM-R390. The images of the product reveal that it has a rectangular shape with round edges. It accompanies a heart rate monitor and two pins for charging. The model number, images, and form factor predict that it is a new fitness band.

In October 2020, almost three years ago, Samsung debuted the Galaxy Fit 2. It features a 1.1-inch AMOLED display. It has a slim form factor and 5ATM water resistance up to 50m. The current device that appeared in FCC reveals that it is wider than the previously debuted fitness band. If we were to name this based on the information, then perhaps Samsung is working on the Galaxy Fit 3.

Currently, there is no information about the specs of this device. However, considering it is a successor to the Galaxy Fit 2, it must feature a gyro sensor and automatic workout detection. Sleep tracking, an accelerometer, and heart rate monitoring. In addition to this, Google recently hinted at the launch of a fitness tracker, which we assume will be the Fitbit Charge 6. Later today, the announcement is expected.
