Samsung might release cheaper foldables next year

As reported by TrendForce a few days ago, Samsung might start to release cheaper foldables next year. Though the very first iteration of Samsung foldables might shock us with their price tag,

The price tag of a cheaper foldable from Samsung might be shocking

As per the latest information released by Revegnus, the price tag of these cheaper foldables might range from $400 to $500; that is a bit of aggressive pricing by Samsung. It’s hard to believe, as the Motorola Razr 40 is currently discounted to $499 on Amazon, whereas the original price of this device was around $700. This discount indicates that this price point is an achievable goal.

The Motorola Razr 40 is clamshell-foldable, and the device information we’re getting from Revegnus might be the same. Though Samsung might surprise us with the price point, it’s pretty hard to imagine a foldable in this price range. Currently, the cheapest foldable Samsung offered by Samsung is the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which is priced at $799.99 on Amazon.

Samsung will need to cut costs to achieve this price point

Naturally, Samsung will need to make a lot of adjustments to achieve reduced pricing. We’ll see cost cuts occur; let’s just hope the business makes the correct cost reductions. Assuming that the gadget in question is a clamshell, it probably won’t have a cover display or only have a little one. The latter is more likely to be accurate, but we’ll see.

A less-than-ideal processor compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be utilized. Samsung will likely choose a processor that is more affordable, perhaps in the mid-range category. Who knows, maybe we’ll even have to make some display concessions? Right now, that device is a mystery, but further details will probably surface.
