Samsung speeds up the development of its own CPU

Currently, the South Korean tech firm Samsung relies on ARM [British chip manufacturing company] for its CPU requirements. Some fresh pieces of information suggest that the company is soon going to introduce its own in-house Central Processing Unit. Reportedly, the in-house CPU will be utilized in Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Book PCs. Such a strategy will help the company to become independent and rely less on others.

Well, there are many possibilities and pros associated with this strategy. It will help the company to optimize its devices in a better way for example its smartphones. Several sources from the industry have indicated that the tech firm conducted an internal meeting with the CPU core development team. In order to speed up the process, the company has reportedly hired a senior developer. Reportedly, the developer is well-experienced since has was previously associated with CPU development at US-based AMD.

We all know that the CPU is the integral component of a device. Samsung Electronics, Qualcomm, and some other major companies rely on ARM for catering to the demands of a CPU core on their APs. Additionally, the south Korean conglomerate utilizes the ARM CPU cores on its AP Exynos as well. So, such a strategy is going to offer several advantages to the company. Since not only the company will lessen its reliance but it will be able to present competition to ARM.

In addition to this, the company is working on the development of a next-gen AP. It is anticipated to be a dedicated chip for the Galaxy S series flagship smartphones. Perhaps we could witness the debut of the Galaxy chip at some time in 2025, claimed by some internal sources. Well, the chip could be based on ARM CPU. Since the company is going to work on the development of its own CPU core.
