Samsung T7 Touch SSD Comes With Fingerprint Sensor

The older SSDs used to offer a password protected features and AES 256-bit hardware encryption, however, Samsung makes use of advanced technology in SSD, the company announces T7 Touch SSD which comes with a fingerprint sensor in order to provide one extra layer of security.

Samsung has unveiled the latest SSD External hard drive at the CES 2020 with some other innovative products including the NEON project which specializes in creating humanoid avatars, digital humans aimed at making conversations with humans.

The external hard drive Samsung T7 Touch is a fast SSD drive with reading speed of 1,050MB/s and writing speed of 1,000MB/s, the device is connected using USD 3.2 Gen 2 standard and cased in lightweight aluminum which weighs roughly 58 grams, the device is also able to sustain two-meter drop.

The fingerprint reader in SSD drive creates a distinction, users can simply use their fingerprint to access the data on the drive quickly, the LED lights on the drive indicated whether the drive is locked or unlocked.

The fingerprint sensor also allows multiple users for the drive-by adding four different fingerprints to the system, apart from fingerprint security the data can also be protected with password and AES 256-bit hardware data encryption.

The device works across the devices and software including iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows, as far as the price is concerned the device comes in different variants including 500GB, 1TB and 2TB options with prices $129.99, $299.99 and $399.99 respectively.
