Samsung to Start Manufacturing Mobiles in Pakistan

Samsung is expanding its business – the company is establishing a manufacturing unit in Pakistan. The deal would be taken through Lucky Motor Corporation – a joint venture of Lucky Corp. and Kia Motors.

The unit would be established at Port Qasim. According to a source, following this establishment, 80% of the manufactured Samsung phones would be sold internally, i.e., within the country.

Pakistan has a lot of potential growth for international businesses. The country’s recent Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy (MDMP) is behind this new setup.

This formation would help both the country and the company – the company, when selling devices to the local market, would be able to cut its costs, while the country would get a chance to offer new opportunities.

It is pertinent to mention that this is not the first time an international mobile phone manufacturing company is coming to Pakistan. The country already has OPPO, Vivo, and Realme manufacturing units in the country.
