Samsung unveiled its most affordable S-series tablet for 2024

When it comes to affordable Android tablets, Samsung has the best offerings in the market. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) is the redesigned version of the company’s well-liked low-cost tablet that was discreetly released.

In 2020, Samsung debuted the original Tab S6 Lite. Two years later, it was refreshed. We have been hearing about another refresh of the same tablet series. However, it was illogical to assume that Samsung will use a 4-year-old moniker for a new series. Reportedly, the new Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) has been officially listed on Samsung’s Romanian website. The tablet’s official listing provides all of its features as well as official product photos, although it does not currently have a price tag.

Features of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024)

The design language of the tablet is the same with a major change in the chipset. It is reportedly powered by an in-house Exynos chipset possibly the Exynos 1280 SoC. It comes in a new Mint color option. Rest of the specs are same. It features a 60Hz 10.4-inch TFT display with a 2000 x 1200 resolution.

An 8MP camera with a capacity to record 1080p videos can be found on the back. A 5MP camera can be found on the front alongside a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It packs a 7,040mAh battery with support for 15W charging. It even supports the S Pen that is a part of the package. It runs on the latest One UI 6.1. The Samsung’s Galaxy AI features won’t be supported due to eth chipset. It’s interesting to note that even though the Exynos 1280 tablet has 5G capability, it only offers LTE connectivity.

In the budget category, a recent offering Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is another option. It features a smooth 90Hz refresh rate for the display. However, it lacks the S Pen support. The Tab S6 Lite (2024) is Samsung’s least expensive choice for artists and note-takers looking for stylus compatibility. There are no details about the pricing and availability of the new tablet in the US market. Its estimated retail price in the United States will be in around of $400. Samsung’s website presently lists the 2022 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite for $429.
