A user of the Galaxy S10 from the UK told the media that her phone allowed it to be unlocked without the biometric data registered in the device.
Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has said that the issue can happen when patterns appearing on certain protectors that come with silicon cases are recognized along with fingerprints.
“Samsung takes the security of the products very seriously and will make sure to strengthen the security through continuous improvements and updates to enhance the functions of the biometric authentication,” the company issued a statement.
The company further said that it would send notifications for the software updates to the users of Galaxy S10 and Note 10 who have not registered their biometric data.
