Samsung Watch 4 Will Use Wear OS

It has been a long time since Samsung released a new smartwatch last time. However, there have been reports recently that Galaxy Watch will usher in a major update this year. It is said that in addition to changes in function and design, related adjustments also involve the bottom layer of the wearable operating system.

Now, SamMobile has exclusively disclosed some details about the company’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch, including One UI 3.x software customized based on Wear OS.

It is said that Samsung may launch three new smartwatches (including Active derivative versions) in one go. The development codes are Wise, Fresh and Lucky respectively.

Unlike traditional watches that look more formal, the new model will have more classic design elements. Among them, Wise has a classic bezel design, while the other two are more sporty.

Even if the underlying operating system changes, Samsung will obviously make the two have a similar appearance and improve the overall interface to be easier to use, supplemented by the new SmartThings function.

Among the new features that everyone is looking forward to, there is one that is said to turn the Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch into a walkie-talkie so that users can send short voice messages to friends (Apple Watch has had similar features for some time).

Finally, although the official release plan has not yet been revealed, the Galaxy Watch 4 is likely to arrive with the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 / Galaxy Z Flip 3 folding screen in August.
