Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor will be used by the Honor 90 Pro

Mobile company HONOR unveiled the Honor 80 Pro back in November 2022. The interesting thing about this smartphone was that it was the first-ever smartphone that displayed the 200MP ISOCELL HP3 camera sensor by Samsung. The camera sensor was not unique to HONOR since various other brands have utilized it too. It was unique in the way it was utilized by Honor. However, for some unknown reasons, the company limited the sensor’s resolution to 160MP in this device. Some recent pieces of information suggest that the company is working on Honor 90 Pro.

Honor 90 Pro will utilize a 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor in full-resolution mode

As per the information by Tipster, Digital Chat Station, Honor 90 Pro will include the Samsung ISOCELL HP3 camera sensor. Well, it is quite strange these days if a flagship-grade device utilizes a similar camera as the previous model. Furthermore, the tipster claims that the upcoming device will be largely unchanged from its ancestor. He further says that it will be a rebadged Honor 80 Pro. It could be the possible reason that Honor 90 Pro will carry over the same camera.

This strategy is not unique to smartphone companies. Since they utilize this strategy with their entry-level or mid-range devices. However, Honor is implementing this with its high-end device. If this is the case, then we can expect features similar to the Honor 80 Pro like a 6.78-inch OLED curved display, two selfie cameras inside a wide punch hole, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, and a 2,700 x 1,224 pixels resolution.

Chinese smartphone companies also utilize the 1-inch camera sensor by Sony. However, the use of 108MP and 200MP camera sensors by Samsung is growing. Some reports suggest that Samsung will soon introduce a 600MP camera sensor as well as a 1-inch sensor in the near future.
