In order to control misuse in fuel budget, Sindh University (SU), Jamshoro has decided to mechanize the transport system. Through this, the university would be able to save Rs30 million each month. The university would be introducing an automated fleet management system to end fuel theft.
A device would be installed in those transport vehicles whose fuel the university pays. So the university management would distantly observe the movement of the transport with the aid of a smartphone application. The device would also keep in touch where the vehicle is located, measure the distance and would be able to monitor the driving alert systems.
As per the SU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat there is an indication of embezzlement of fuel accounting to Rs90,000 to Rs100,000 every day. Through the system, he aims to save Rs25 million to Rs30 million each month.
Not only would the university be able to end corruption through the system but also keep safe and secure its logistics assets. Sindh University would install the automation system by hiring a private company.
SU plans to hire a private company to install the automation system.
