Smuggled Phones to be Blocked After 31st December

According to the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, all the smuggled mobile phones in the country will be blocked after 31st December. Talking to the media after a federal cabinet meeting, Fawad Chaudhry said that every year almost Rs2.5 billion worth phones are illegally smuggled into Pakistan.

Other than this in the federal cabinet meeting, the incident of the terrorist attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi was highlighted. Also, the security agencies were praised for their timely, effective action against the evil aims of the terrorists. Also, a tribute was paid to the martyrs who lost their lives to protect the Chinese consulate and the people there. The cabinet met with the Prime Minister in the chair who said, “We are determined to root out the menace of terrorism and the elements who are making efforts to destabilize the country.”

About the terrorist attack, Chaudhry said, “We know who is involved in these terrorist activities, and they will not be spared. Everyone knows who is perturbed by Pakistan-China relations.”

The PM said that no other country has given so many sacrifices and remained resilient against the act of terrorism. Also, Fawad Chaudhry confirmed that the cabinet has formally approved of the Kartarpur border opening on 28th November. It will be opened specifically to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims. Fawad Chaudhry called the border opening ‘victory of peace’.
