Snipping tool can now copy tables & their contents

Microsoft is currently providing testers from the Insider program with a new edition of the snipping tool, which now gives you the option of copying the content or entire tables from images and other documents if necessary. Microsoft

Microsoft recently not only released new preview builds of Windows 11, but also released an update tester who wants to try out a new version of the snipping tool that actually comes with Windows. It brings with it a single innovation, which can prove to be very useful in everyday use. Like the developers in one Blog entry announced that an update for the snipping tool is currently being delivered and is available to insider testers from the Canary and Dev channels. Version 11.2409.22.0 introduces a feature called “Copy as Table” for the first time. And this one does exactly that: copy tables.

It’s very easy to use: you simply select the desired area using the snipping tool and then, in addition to the option to cut text, you can also choose the new option to cut a table. The program then copies the entire contents of the table displayed on the source image and turns simple image data into a table that can be further processed with other programs. So both the entries in the cells of the table are adopted, as well as the structuring and structure.

The data recorded in this way can be inserted into spreadsheet programs such as Excel, Word or simply into an email and further processed. Anyone who handles locked PDFs or images whose content should be taken over and used further will have an extremely useful tool. It is still unclear when the innovation described here will be delivered across the board and thus to all users.
