Some interesting facts about Galaxy S23’s exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip

The latest high-end smartphone by the tech firm Samsung is basically the first smartphone to utilize an exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor was introduced a few months back. However, the version used in Samsung’s Galaxy S23 is a higher-clocked version. As per the official information, the processor has the following attributes:

  • the Prime CPU core is clocked at 3.36GHz (0.16GHz higher than the vanilla chip)
  • the Adreno 740 GPU is clocked at 719MHz (39MHz higher)

But this is not all, it has various other characteristics. Let us discuss them in brief.

Do you want faster performance with multitasking, gaming, opening apps, and booting up the device? Then just don’t worry, the latest Galaxy S23’s processor offers all of these. It is because it has high CPU clock speeds and a faster GPU. When such excellent CPU and GPU are integrated with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, the device performs quite well. Since according to the official figures, the Galaxy S23 is 34% efficient in CPU workloads, 41% in gaming, and 49% in machine learning activities.

The South Korean tech firm declares that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the fastest chipset in the world. In addition to these features, the chipset is equipped with an enhanced ISP. Reportedly, it is for the first time that a Snapdragon processor has utilized the new Cognitive ISP by Qualcomm. This tiny segment of the chipset presents the real-time Semantic Segmentation feature. Thus, the image quality is improved. It is based on AI and ML. it processes every segment of the image i.e., object, subject, and background individually to create a more natural picture.

Due to the improved IS, the new Galaxy S23 can capture images even in low-light conditions. Notably, it is the first Android smartphone that can record 4K 60fps Super HDR videos using both front and back cameras. In addition to this, it can even record QHD resolution and portrait videos in 4K 30fps.
