Sony New ANC Headphones Sony WF-1000XM4 leaked

According to new leaks, the presentation of the Sony WF-1000XM4 is imminent. The next generation of active noise-canceling true wireless headphones will be unveiled in early June. In addition, the ANC in-ears can now be seen in the first pictures.

Alongside companies like Bose and Apple, Sony is one of the front runners when it comes to headphones with Active Noise Canceling (ANC). While the over-ear flagship WH-1000XM4 received a more or less significant update last year, the fourth generation of the Sony WF-1000XM4 in-ear headphones of almost the same name will be available next month. This is reported, among other things, by the Walkman Blog, citing updated documents from the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Great design, With 6-hour battery life

While the first pictures of a possible original packaging for the wireless Bluetooth headphones were already on the net in February, the bloggers are now showing significantly more detailed photos of the Sony WF-1000XM4. Compared to its predecessor, the XM3, the design of the ANC-In-Ears is slightly bulkier and, thanks to a distinctive “screw”, is much more noticeable. Little is known about the technical data. The WF-1000XM4 is said to have Sony’s LDAC codec, hi-res audio, and a battery life of up to six hours. Charging should also be faster using the case provided.

Due to the changed dates regarding the confidentiality of internal FCC data until June 9, 2021, the presentation of the Sony WF-1000XM4 could take place on this day or shortly afterward. It remains to be seen whether the Japanese manufacturer will use an improved HD processor for noise reduction, which is currently being used in the “QN1e” version. The same applies to the size of the driver unit and the final price of the ANC headphones. The RRP of the predecessor is 249 euros. In the price comparison, these can currently be found for 145 euros.
