Sony: Over 100 Games Not Available For Streaming For PC

The new PlayStation Plus Premium offer includes a section dedicated to streaming games. It is possible to access it from the PS5 or a PC application. But the PC catalog is much less rich, a hundred games from the old PlayStations are missing, while others are present, but poorly arranged. As a result, they fail to start. A deteriorated experience showing that the Premium offer was certainly not ready yet.

Sony launched the marketing of the new PlayStation Plus formula late last week. It comes in three levels: Essential bringing together all the services of the old PlayStation; Additional and Premium (which now includes PlayStation Now). In particular, the latter two include access to a catalog of games. Only at the Premium level, you can play games from the old PlayStations (PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP). They are 740 games accessible to Premium subscribers, against 400 matches from the Extra offer.

Premium offering, a level naturally made to compete with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, with game streaming on PS5 and PC. But that’s not the only argument: it taps into nostalgia and emotion thanks to access to a large selection of games that have marked the history of PlayStations for some. However, it must be recognized that the result is not always good. We reported this in our Getting Started.

Over a hundred games are not available for streaming on PC

If the experience consumed is good, even if it can be improved, it will be much less quality on a PC. A Reddit user reported that many of the games available to stream on PS5 are not in the app for Windows. An irregularity that also affects games PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3 or PS4. Find a relatively complete list with the source link.

More than a hundred titles are missing (of the 740 promised by Sony). And we find in the list of emblematic games: Demon’s Souls, Devil May Cry 4, God of War HD 1 and 2, Fallout New Vegas, Infamous 2, Lego Star Wars Complete Saga and Lego Star Wars III Clone Wars, Lost Planet 1 and 2, Ratchet & Clank, Star Wars The Force Unleashed 1 and 2, or even Red Dead Redemption 2.

Bugs not worthy of Sony’s brand image

And that’s not the only problem. Others are misplaced in the service catalog† Indeed, Infamous First Light, Spiderman, Control, The Last of Us Remastered, or Uncharted The Nathan Drake Legacy have been placed in the PS3 section even though they are PS4 games. PS4 games aren’t the only victims. PS1, PS2, and PSP games are also affected. Take the example of Resident Evil: Director’s Cut, released on PS1. It is marked as PS3.

And the problem isn’t just the difficulty of finding the game. When the system opens these games, it launches them with the PS3 emulator and it crashes Between the absent games and the games that don’t start, the PlayStation Plus Premium PC streaming catalog has been severely amputated. A finding that gets people talking on Reddit and social networks. Because the Premium package is the most expensive and the service does not live up to the image of Sony Obviously the problem will be solved. But it also confirms that the service was launched a little too soon.
