Sony Reveals Additional PS5 Slim Color Options

Last year, in October, Sony debuted the PS5 Slim in white. The device was introduced with just a single color option. However, the company has now introduced the same console in three colors. In essence, they are side plates that are available for purchase separately.

Sony PS5 Slim gets new color options

The Japanese brand announced the new colors: Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver for the PS5 Slim at the CES 2024 event. These belong to the same Deep Earth collection as the original PlayStation 5. The colors of the DualSense controllers and the console also match. Compared to the white-colored console’s glossy and matte look, the new side plates showcase an all-matte finish. The new color options are quite vibrant.

Interestingly, users can access the new side plates separately for $54.99. In simple words, users can opt to change the side plates. According to the company, the new colors will soon be available for purchase. Furthermore, the company will soon introduce an all-matte black side plate as well. One thing to notice here is that the Deep Earth collection is bound to the disc version of the PS5 Slim.

The Sony PS5 Slim is a more compact and lightweight variant of the PS5 that features a removable disc drive. A second USB-C connector is located on the front, and the capacity has been increased to 1TB. But the newest console has the same hardware capability.
