Soon, WhatsApp will allow you to post longer videos as part of your status updates
The technology company Meta owns the voice-over-IP and instant messaging application WhatsApp. It enables users to share pictures, documents, user locations, and other content in addition to sending text, voice, and video messages and making audio and video calls.
The messaging app has several features. One of the notable features is the status. Users can always share updates with their closed ones in form of pictures or videos on status. The main concern is about video form status. Currently, users can post 30 seconds videos to status. In order to post longer videos, they are required to post multiple status updates. For quite some time now, users have been requesting to increase the limit of videos shared on status. It appears like the company has heard it.
WABetaInfo reports that users can now post videos of up to one minute length to status. The new feature was spotted in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.24.7.6). According to the publication, the feature is only available to a few selected users. One thing to notice here is that users must have the updated version of the app in order to post and view status updates of 60 seconds.
To share a video longer than thirty seconds, users had to make numerous status updates up until now. According to the most recent update, users can post a video in a single status update if it lasts one minute or less. Currently, there are no details on when this feature will be rolled out to the stable version of the app. Of course, it will arrive after rigorous testing that may take a few weeks.
