Spotify Allows its Employees to Work from Anywhere

The Swedish music streaming company – Spotify Technology – allows its employees to work from anywhere. The company announced this in a blog post on Friday.

Long before COVID-19, companies (especially tech-based) started shifting to cloud-based systems and meeting the team using online facilities, including Zoom, WhatsApp, Slack, and more.

Companies embrace a remote working lifestyle as vaccine inoculations could still take the better half of the year to complete.

It is said that Spotify’s shift is following several technology companies planning to keep some of the new ways of working as an outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spotify recently adopted this work from anywhere strategy, salesforce.com and Twitter have already shifted to hybrid or permanent remote working models.

Spotify has also witnessed a surge in paid subscribers during the peak tie of the pandemic and reached a count of 155 million in the fourth quarter.
