Surface Go 2 Geekbench Score Reveals Huge Performance Improvement

Soon after Microsoft started selling its new Microsoft Surface Go 2, the first benchmark results for the small tablet have appeared. The tests are exciting especially since you can assume that you can really feel the improvement in performance.

This is now reported by the Windows Latest and refers to the various tests that were carried out with Geeekbench 4. The new Microsoft Surface Go 2 has received a decent processor upgrade. The second generation of the small Windows 10 tablet with an Intel Core m3 processor, the 8100Y, with a base clock frequency of 1.1 GHz was initially tested. Although it clocks lower than its predecessor, it offers a maximum turbo frequency of up to 3.4 GHz and thus a significant boost. Go 2 with the Core m3 is available from 719 euros in Europe.

Microsoft promises performance growth

Microsoft had stated that the Intel Core m3 CPU is up to 64 percent faster than the processor of the first series. Now, these advertising promises are confirmed by the first benchmark tests that were carried out: According to Geekbench 4, the Surface Go 2 with Core m3 model achieved 3989 points in the single-core test and 6773 points in the multi-core test.

Performance will be noticeable

The entry-level version of the Surface Go 2 with the Intel Pentium 4415Y CPU is significantly slower, but also better than in the first series. This configuration achieved 2020 points in the single-core test and 4004 points in the multi-core test. The entry-level model starts at 459 euros. These good results are also confirmed in other tests, including Geekbench 5 and PCMark 10, that writes Windows Latest. The Core m3 in the Surface Go 2 makes a big difference both in benchmarking and in real applications, it is said – owners of the new series should be happy. The Microsoft Surface Go 2 will be available from May 12th. The first devices have already been delivered, and tomorrow the new tablet can also be found in brick-and-mortar stores.
