WhatsApp is the Meta-owned messaging platform. Some recent reports indicate that the Android version of the messaging app is readying a major UI redesign. As per the information, the UI design of the Android version might soon change to a bottom navigation bar. The upcoming feature was identified within the latest beta version of the app, WABetaInfo reports. As of now, the feature is not even accessible to beat users.
When it comes to apps, most of the apps present a similar UI design on both Android as well as iOS. However, WhatsApp is not included in this list. On the iOS version, the app presents a bottom navigation bar whereas the Android version has a top navigation bar. The recent developments suggest that the company is going to give the Android version an iOS-like look.
The recent feature was spotted in version 2.23.8.4 of WhatsApp beta for Android. Some images shared by WABetaInfo indicate that the new version will present four buttons at the bottom of the screen i.e., Chats, Communities, Status, and Calls from left to right in that order. In contrast, the present navigation bar on Android places Communities on the left. Whereas Chats, Status, and Calls follow subsequently. Well, this change will bring the two versions of the app closer in terms of the user interface.
Well, as of now there are no details as to when this feature will be rolled out to users. however, if things go in the right direction then Beta users can get the new feature within the next few weeks. It will then be followed by a stable release. Keep the app updated in order to receive all the new features. Besides this, the company is also working on fingerprint locking of individual chats, new poll settings, and more new features.
