The camera specs of the Sony Xperia 1 VI were revealed

It’s been a long time since we last heard about the Sony Xperia 1 VI. Several renders about the upcoming Sony smartphone were shared last year and now we have some fresh new details about the Xperia 1 VI. Perhaps the company is set to launch the device. The tipster Insider Sony shared some marketing material for the Sony Xperia 1 VI on X (formerly Twitter).

The information reveals that the smartphone features a triple camera setup on the back. Well, this is quite a significant update compared to its predecessor, which features two cameras. A 48MP sensor along with the same Exmor T mobile image sensor is expected to be used with all three cameras. Previously, it was found in the Xperia 1 V’s primary lens. With the help of this technology, light intake was improved and noise was reduced. It appears that all three sensors will use this feature.

Furthermore, the main lens will feature a large f/1.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom. For quick and precise focus, it will be accompanied by a dual-PD AF. It will feature support for 1080p video recording with electronic image stabilization (EIS). The focal length of the ultra-wide camera is reported to be 14–18mm, which is perfect for capturing wide scenes. It will arrive with on-chip autofocus.

According to leaks, a 6x zoom will be offered with the telephoto lens. It can capture detailed photos with its 48MP sensor. This 6x zoom, however, is probably the result of sensor cropping, since the original optical zoom only goes up to 3x. This is all that we know about the upcoming Xperia 1 VI.

Last year, in September, a report regarding the launch of Xperia 1 VI at MWC Barcelona emerged. An earlier disclosure is conceivable, though, given that the leaker also posted a picture of Sony’s MWC event on February 26.
