The construction of Samsung’s US semiconductor plant is on track

Back in 2021, the tech firm Samsung announced that it would start the construction of a semiconductor factory in Taylor, Texas, USA. however, in December 2022, it was reported that the tech giant is recruiting the required equipment for the plant. Recently, some more information is coming regarding the construction of a new semiconductor plant by Samsung in the USA. As per this news, the CEO of Samsung Kyung Kye-Hyun has mentioned that the construction of the plant is going according to the plan. Moreover, he added that the plant will be completed in the due timeframe.

The CEO of the tech firm shared in an Instagram post that the plant will complete its construction in the following year. He further added that soon the semiconductor extension will be producing the best products. Besides this, an image with Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell was also shared. The image showcases a road sign with the marking ‘Samsung Highway’. According to Yonhap News Agency, the road was previously named ‘Future County Road’. Since it lies in close vicinity to the semiconductor plant by Samsung, so it has been renamed ‘Samsung Highway.’

One question might arise why did Samsung choose this place for a new semiconductor plant? Well, the reason includes the surrounding semiconductor environment, local govt support, infrastructure ecosystem, and community development opportunities. With this new plant in the USA, we will see an increase in the production of advanced chip solutions fueling next-gen technologies.

Besides this, another plant of Samsung lies in close proximity i.e., Austin. All such reasons urged the tech firm to invest in the US for building a supply chain of semiconductors and side-by-side contribute to the community.
