The Galaxy S24 will feature a specially designed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor

The Galaxy S24, which is scheduled to be released early next year, will employ a unique variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, according to a recent performance benchmark for a future Nubia phone. Last month, the Galaxy S24+ made an appearance on Geekbench. According to Geekbench’s information, the upcoming flagship will be powered by a new Qualcomm chipset.

Possibly, Nubia is set to debut the RedMagic 9. The Geekbench listing unveils that the Nubia smartphone holds the same motherboard and governor as the Galaxy S24+. In simpler words, both smartphones will be fueled by the forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It turns out, though, that Samsung will use a stronger version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU in the Galaxy S24. It is yet another SoC that is designated “for Galaxy.”

Samsung and Qualcomm will design a “for Galaxy” exclusive chip

As per the available information, the regular variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip features 2.26GHz base frequency. It includes two CPU cores that are clocked at 2.27GHz, five cores run at 2.96GHz, and one core operates at 3.19GHz. The variant that is designed for the Galaxy S24+ comes with the 2+2+3+1 configuration. It contains four CPU clusters.

The base frequency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 designed “for Galaxy” is 2.26GHz, while the first two CPU cores have a 2.27GHz frequency. However, the single high-performance core now operates at 3.30GHz, up from 3.19GHz, and the three-core cluster is now clocked at 3.15GHz rather than 2.96GHz. Such information indicates that Samsung and Qualcomm will continue their collaboration that began earlier this year with the exclusive “for Galaxy” Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for the Galaxy S23.

Besides this, there is a chance that Qualcomm might introduce an equally efficient version of the “for Galaxy” chip to other smartphone companies later next year. Well, there is an increased chance for this to happen since the RedMagic 8S Pro features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 version that has similar specs as the Galaxy S23 chipset.
